| Dear Friends of Collie Rescue,
We rescued 27 collies so far this year (as compared to only 16 collies this time last year). We are proud to say that we work hard to place our collies in the best homes based on their individual personality and activity levels. We cannot do this work without YOUR HELP!
It's been a tough month, as Laddie had to have his front right leg amputated. We are happy to say that he is recovering nicely and feeling so much better! We are looking forward to helping him find his forever home!
Thank you all who sent in donations for Laddie and Cali! Cali is scheduled to go to the specialist this coming week. So, please keep her in your thoughts!
As always, thank you all for your support. To everyone who fosters, transports, volunteers, and donates, our collective efforts are truly helping these wonderful dogs.
Regards,
Linda |

Volunteer Spotlight: Lois Ankrom
This edition, the Volunteer Spotlight shines on Lois Ankrom. And, if the Volunteer Spotlight ever needed its bulb changed, we'd look to Lois! Lois has been an asset to Collie Rescue because she will cheerfully take on any task! Lois can do it all; she began helping Collie Rescue by picking up a collie in need for us. She then adopted her own sweet collie girl, Carli. She helps with transports that otherwise may not happen (Charlottesville, anyone?) and is always ready with a smile and a helping hand when we set up a booth at any of the local festivals or events. Lois even raised over $200 in goods and services by soliciting local vendors in Culpeper, VA within a matter of days! A devoted mom and grandmother, Lois's life is full of love - and we are so lucky that Lois shares her time, love and talent with us. We couldn't do it without you!

Success Story: Rex
And a "Thank You" to Dr. Moczar!
One of the most difficult things to understand is how an elderly dog, especially one with a sweet disposition and a loving heart, could get unceremoniously dumped at a shelter. Fortunately for these seniors, there are also people like Dr. Moczar, who willingly open their hearts and homes to them.
Dr. Moczar has opened her home not once, but twice to collies who had this unfortunate turn of luck. Not only did Rex, 10, and Lassie, 11, find a family, but they are thriving.
When Rex came into Collie Rescue, he was extremely weak and exhausted from all of the change in his life. Looking at Rex now, happily settled into his new home and surrounded by his family, you'd never know that he'd been through so much. With Dr. Moczar's love and encouragement, Rex is living in a warm, comfortable home. And he's getting stronger as Dr. Moczar works to build up his muscles.
It takes a strong, compassionate person to open her home to one dog in such need - but Dr. Moczar has done it twice! Thank you so much for all of the love you have given to these collies in need, Dr. Moczar!
